Christmas in Summer

The big Christmas tree in Cathedral Square was being erected by crane this morning as I walked in after dropping my car off for no doubt expensive repairs (hehehe...I said "erected"). Let me consult the calendar. Let's see, two weeks before Christmas starts. If any civic tree in the US were put up two weeks before Christmas, it would have been preceded by lawsuits from Christian pro bono legal outfits because we all know that not putting up any Christmas decorations in October is tantamount to a sin!

Puh-leeze... in the US the Christians would at least wait until November at the earliest, and most likely until Thanksgiving.

If it was the U.S., there'd be pro-bono lawsuits for the atheists, the festivists, kwanzaa, channukah ...
